Quit Smoking With Hypnotherapy
Every year, thousands and thousands of people joins the ranks of ex-smokers taking back control of their health and wellbeing.
Hypnosis can be an extremely effective tool to aid in smoking cessation. Research shows that when done correctly, the success rate is slightly above 66%. Compare that to the success rates of trying to quit on your own with any number of other techniques - 5% success rate just trying on your own; 25% using behavior therapy; or 25% using Nicotine Replacement Products.
If you really want to quit smoking, even if you’ve tried everything else out there, hypnosis may be the best option out there for you.
In fact, there is no other method supported by research that even comes close.
Hypnosis uses the power of focused attention and suggestion to change habits and realign any personal beliefs that aren’t serving you well.
It is the unconscious mind coupled with the autonomic nervous system that creates the addiction to smoking. With hypnosis, we harness that same powerful connection to shift beliefs and triggers in order to change habits.
Smoking Cessation Program in 3 Sessions
Our first session will last 1.5 - 2 hours, and the following two sessions will be an hour each.
While every person is unique, and our work will ultimately be guided by your specific needs, the general program approach looks like this:
Initial discussion about what hypnosis is and is not, including examples and experiential exercises.
Deeper discussion about the client’s relationship with smoking including: history, triggers, and motivations for stopping. This conversation helps create viable “driving suggestions” used while in hypnosis.
The hypnosis component itself is gentle, calm, and relaxing. Contrary to those urban legends, you will not be completely unconscious or unaware, and you cannot be made to do anything or change behaviors that you ultimately do not want to do or change.
The “driving suggestions” and other subtle suggestion techniques are used as verbal guides throughout the hypnosis session allowing for the conscious mind to relax and the unconscious mind to begin feeling and connecting more to emotions associated with the negative effects of smoking, and identifying it as something you don’t want or need. Your mind is replacing the impulses and energy once devoted to smoking, and the need for that, to strong, positive, alternative, life-affirming behaviors.
You will be taught “crave-buster” techniques that will help you leave your first session feeling totally confident that if the urge to smoke arises, you have the tools to stop the craving. These techniques are also called “anti-anxiety techniques.” and are good to use whenever anxiety arises.
You will also be taught self-hypnosis techniques to use outside of our sessions to reinforce the work you are doing in your sessions.
Our remaining sessions will focus on reinforcing positive alternative behaviors connected to your new beliefs and perceptions as a non-smoker, helping you focus on and achieve a healthier, happier life as a non-smoker.

"I believe I'd built a very solid wall around myself, so to speak, that was based on my nicotine habit. I hadn't realized to what extent until our sessions. I've heard others mention that cigarettes had a large controlling influence in their lives, but didn't fully understand why they felt that way until now. It makes perfect sense to me now, because I've come to the same realization.
Within 6 months I plan on being much healthier and stronger than I've been in a long time. Being a non-smoker will be the key to me establishing and attaining my exercise goals going forward. I'm sure it would be much more difficult, if not impossible, to be where I'm at without your professional, caring assistance."
